Paper Christmas Tree


Made these cute Christmas trees with old magazine papers.

I cut approx. 10-15 squares of different size of paper differing by half inch and stacked them from largest to smallest size.

So if you are starting with 5" squares, then you need 15 squares of 5" followed by 15 squares of 4.5" and then so on. Stack them on a skewer and you got a Christmas tree. How fast and easy is that !!..:)

    Totally love these! Great idea for a different Christmas decoration and a good recycling project for my girls. This past year our family dedicated to simplifying, on and celebration of all holidays too. These trees will look gorgeous on the fireplace mantel in our living room. Thank you for the inspiration!

    I love this old magazine tree! What did you use as a base so it stands up? I love to craft, but until I make my first one of something, I almost need you with me holding my hand. LOL! How tall are the skewers? What did you make the star out of? Sorry I sound like a crafting dummy! I'm not really THAT bad, although when I got married at 18, my mother had to tell me how long to boil an egg til it's hardboiled. LOL! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful ideas. Merry Christmas!       Hi Linda, So sorry, I missed seeing your message earlier. But I guess I will be able to reply just in time for you to try this project this Christmas season..:)
      The base I used was a small candle stand I had. I put a foam piece in the candle stand and stuck the skewer in the foam piece.
      The length of the skewer doesn't really matter. The longer the skewer the more papers you need to pile in to make a larger tree. If you can notice, I made two trees, one is shorter than the other.
      For the star, I had a glow in the dark star from my kids project. I think I got them from Target.
