Making dried flowers

 

So few days back, I found a new way to make dried flowers the quick and easy way. All this time, I have been drying flowers just like a lot of other people still do I think, pressing between the pages of the book. Then wait for like days to get them all dried up. But not always did they turn out as beautiful and colorful as I would have hoped for. Specially the flowers after being between the pages, they sometimes will loose their color and also turn out to be just brown old pressed flowers 😒.

So when I found out about this method of drying flowers in microwave, I had to give it a try. That too it said that it will be ready in minutes. The idea of not waiting for days for the dried flowers to be ready was good enough for me to give this a try. 

After trying it, I can tell you it’s not only quick drying but the result was better than I had expected. The colors of the flowers were intact and the pressed result was a paper thin pressed flowers, that could be used in a variety of projects. Just look at this foxglove that I dried using this method and how thin it turned out to be.

To make these,  arrange the flowers in between paper towel and put in the microwave. Weigh it down by placing a heavy microwavable vessel on top of it. I put a large bowl with some water in it to make it heavy.

 I set the microwave for 4 minutes, checked on the flowers and put it in for a couple of minutes more. Depending on the thickness of the flower it may take a little less or more minutes. When it’s dried, take it out from the microwave and carefully peel off from the paper and use it in your project.

 

Wasn't that easy.
