Macrame Feather/Leaf

I saw these macrame feathers or leaf, however you see it and wanted to make these too These can be used as wall decorations or make small ones to use for key chains or purse or bag dangles. Making them is pretty easy too.

Aren't these beautiful? So here's the tutorial to making these. I made these with yarn and also with jute. They both turned out beautiful.

Take a piece of jute twice the length of the spine of the leaf and fold in half just like the picture below.

Take a strand folded in half and tuck it under the spine.

Take another strand folded in half and put it through the loop of the first strand just like the picture below.

Insert the ends of the first strand into the loop of the second one and pull it to tighten it.

Now for the second set,  do the same thing but start from the other side. Keep going this way. alternating the side you start and fill up the spine of the leaf.

Now that the leaf is full, you need to trim the edges and shape it like a leaf. I even brushed the leaf a little to open up the jute and make the leaf look fuller. So here it is ..:)
