Ideas for recycling old magazines

 I am a bit late, as I wanted to post this for Earth Day. But then its never too late to think about recycling.  so here it is 😊. I am sharing some ideas for recycling old magazines.

Magazine Wreath

This does feel like a piece of art. Oh well, that's what I told my husband when he saw this project in the making ..:)  See, while growing up, we had these small corner stores that would pile up receipt in the pin stand. So he made a comment that this looked like those receipts piled up ..lol ..  I told him its still art and well we didnt know to appreciate art back then ..:D

Cork Coasters/Mats

I have been collecting wine bottle corks for sometime now. I had collected quiet a few and then one of my friends came to know that I am collecting corks and she dropped a whole bag full of corks for me. So I had a plenty to work with.

Recycling magazine - Vase

I am continuing to recycle loads of magazines and this time I used them to cover a canned tin to use as a vase. Its simple, colorful and I love it ..:)

Paper Sunburst

So I have been rolling magazine sheets in hopes of recycling/reusing the stack of magazines I have lying around.  This is the first of many that I used the rolls for.  Simple but striking I would say..:)

So for the past few days, I have been rolling old magazine sheets in hopes of making something with these.  I do not know yet what to make, but even these rolled sheets stacked up looks pretty neat, dont you think?

Recycling Magazine - Part 2

Just like I mentioned in my previous post, I am still using trying to reuse my magazine pile. So here's another simple project made with magazine..:)

Reusing old magazines

I still have absolutely no idea what I want to make with these rolls that I started making with old magazines.

I was doing my spring cleaning and found that we have piles of old magazines that I no longer need. I didn't want to just toss them out and thought of making something - I just didn't know what that something would be 😃

Paper Folded Ornaments

These paper folded ornaments is a great way to recycle old books lying around. You can fold into different ways to make different shapes.
You can even string or glue them in a string, like multiple ornaments in a string for a backdrop.

Weave Basket

Can you guess that I made this basket with paper towel rolls. When I first saw this project online, I just wanted to make one and have been collecting the paper towel rolls enough to make this cute little basket.

Paper Christmas Tree

Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas. Well, the stores already have Christmas stuff out, so maybe not.

Last weekend, I was cleaning up the piles and piles of magazines that we have collected and thought it was time to get rid of old ones. But instead of just throwing or giving it away, I wanted to see if I can do or make somethings with it. So, one of the things that I made from it, was these folded Christmas tree.

Magazine Wreath

Have you been in a situation when you get more magazines in mail than you can actually read... I am in that situation. I  have a huge pile of magazines, which I plan to get to someday. And I also have to make room for the new magazines, that are arriving every other day..:).

Pie dish Succulent garden

You know how I felt when one of my favorite pie dish broke... I was sad and didn't want to throw it away...

I glued the pieces back, but I knew I cant use it for cooking purpose because of the glue I used. So I planted my succulents. And I am happy that I can still have my pie dish and I can use it...:)

Cardboard basket

This is another great recyclable project that you can make empty with cereal boxes or any cardboard piece you might have.

Wine Cork Letters

I have seen different projects using wine corks and have been collecting wine corks for sometime. I had finally managed to have enough to make a project and decided on making letters with it. And this is what I came up with.

Cardboard Dollhouse

I made this doll house few months back. I made it with one of the packaging boxes from Amazon. It was a nice recycling project, which was fun to make and turned out pretty nice. I tried furnishing the house and as you can see made a dresser and stove too. I did add other pieces too - made sofa and a bed. And then my little helpers took it over. They colored on the walls and also the furniture. But this is how it looked before the little interior designers took over.

Cork Sail Boats

I wanted to share one of the projects that my daughter did. She loves arts and crafts. You might want to check out some of her other art works at http://rheasart.blogspot.com/
These boats can actually float, so its fun racing them. Try blowing bubbles using the straw or come up with ways to make your boat move forward and race...:)

Cardboard Castle.

Wanted to share a #PrincessPlayCastle I made few days back with cardboard boxes, which we also used for our princess/pirate birthday party.

Paper Towel Roll Craft

I have been collecting tissue paper rolls thinking of making something out of it. Finally I came up with this wall decor. You can make so many different designs with these rolls.
