Super Mario 8th Birthday

I got to plan a super Mario 8th Birthday party and it was so much fun. Not only for us, who got to plan it, but the kids had a blast. The game truck came to the venue and kids got to play video games. Which kid wouldn't like that!!!

I should warn you that this post will be picture heavy and as it is pictures speak louder than the words. So I will let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!

Kids got to play different types of games, including Mario games, Skylanders and others. But I chose Mario as the theme for the Birthday. I did some searching on the web for the ideas, since I wasn't very familiar with Mario and I have to admit, I got quiet a few suggestions from the Birthday boy himself. All the printables used for the party are available here and here.

For the decor, I went with the basic red, blue, green and yellow colors. I made a pretty easy garland with the colored crepe papers. I will share the tutorial to make the garland maybe later.

For the 'Power Up Station', made different kinds of powers. 'Star Power' was the star shaped sugar cookies with yellow frosting and I used half of brown m&m for each of the eyes.

Mushroom Power were chocolate cupcakes with red frosting. For the white dots on the cupcake used mini marshmallows.

Used cheeses balls for fire power and popcorn for ice power.

The flower Power was the vegetables arranged to  look like flower power.
