Today I made these beautiful garland with the crepe paper.
You'll need:
-------------
- Crepe Paper strips
- Needle and thread
Steps:
------
- Take a needle and thread. Tie a knot at the end of the thread and then make running stitch in the middle of the crepe paper strip through the length of the strip. The length of the strip will depend on how long you want your garland to be.
- As you go along pull the string,so that the crepe paper strip starts to gather. While pulling also twist the crepe paper a little.
That's it. Here are some more pictures of the colorful garland.

DeleteThank you for stopping by and you have a wonderful day too!
My nan used to make these for us for Christmas, she'd make huge long garlands joining all sorts of colours together. We would twist them as we hung them up and used them year after year. i'm assuming eventually they got really tatty and had to be thrown away. What lovely memories you have brought back for me thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie for your sweet comment.. Loved to hear your story of your Christmas decoration times with your nan..its wonderful to know that it brought back some fond memories..:)
DeleteWe made paper garlands too to decorate during Christmas and other festivities..such simple times back then when we had just colorful paper at our disposal to decorate and such wonderful things that we could make just with paper..:)
I love that you're making a concerted effort to use up your leftover craft supplies. I'm so guilty of just stashing them away and letting it pile up. These garlands are very fun, thanks so much for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
