Paper cutting tools and techniques.

 I have been cutting paper for the past few months, but when I started I neither had the tools nor had much info about what to use and how to cut. 

Now that I have been papercutting for the past some time, thought about sharing about the tools I use. I have self-learned paper cutting, these opinions are mine. The things that I listed here are what worked for me. But would definitely be eager to learn more tips and techniques for anyone who has any ideas to share.

Paper cut Mandala

 

I have hand cut quiet a few paper designs but some designs are special and this is one of them. This was also the first mandala that I cut and hence the special place:).

I am hooked to paper cutting, atleast for now, till I find something more interesting to do ..😊 This requires the least amount of things, no glue, no other fancy stuff, just paper and cutting tool and I can grab these anytime and sit with these two things and cut away..

Trying to make paper cards.. I am making lot of small and some big designs to just incorporate into cards.. This is one of them..:)

Paper Feather

This was a good weekend.. we didn't go anywhere or do anything special, but I felt like I was able to do quiet a few things which I planned to do at home without being too tiring. At the end of the day, I wanted to make something quick and fun at the same time and ended up making this paper cut feather.

Magazine Wreath

This does feel like a piece of art. Oh well, that's what I told my husband when he saw this project in the making ..:)  See, while growing up, we had these small corner stores that would pile up receipt in the pin stand. So he made a comment that this looked like those receipts piled up ..lol ..  I told him its still art and well we didnt know to appreciate art back then ..:D

Recycling magazine - Vase

I am continuing to recycle loads of magazines and this time I used them to cover a canned tin to use as a vase. Its simple, colorful and I love it ..:)

Paper Sunburst

So I have been rolling magazine sheets in hopes of recycling/reusing the stack of magazines I have lying around.  This is the first of many that I used the rolls for.  Simple but striking I would say..:)

So this is what I worked over the weekend. It seemed like it took for ever though.😅 I was working on this in between my calls with friends, family. :)

Don't you agree, this staying at home during this pandemic has resulted in some good things, like catching up with old friends after a long time.

Folded paper art

I have been thinking of ways to use the bunch of old magazines I have lying around. So other day while watching a movie I started folding pages of the magazine. Below is the picture of the folded magazine.

Recycling Magazine - Part 2

Just like I mentioned in my previous post, I am still using trying to reuse my magazine pile. So here's another simple project made with magazine..:)

Paper Cut Leaf

Its been a while since I made anything or even posted. Had been busy with stuff. This past weekend I was determined to make something and thought of making a cut design. So late in the evening, when the kids were off to bed, I set a movie to watch in Netflix and I did my watching and cutting at the same time ..:D. So it took me longer than usual to cut this piece. But oh well, I got it done..:)

Paint Chip Wreath

A couple of years back, when we painted the rooms in our house, I got a bunch of paint chips in order to figure out the colors that we wanted. I saved those paint chips, because the colors looked so pretty and I thought I'll use in one of my projects.
This year too, we were back browsing the colors and I picked some more colors. Now,  it seemed like I had enough paint chips collected to make something. So this is what I made..Wreath made with paint chips...:)

Paper Ornaments

Today morning when I went out for a walk with my dog, found this branch and thought it would be perfect to hang my paper ornaments. Doesn't it look great?!
